Juliana Mira Hernandez

Postdoctoral Fellow

Juliana is a Postdoc and former Bers Lab graduate student. She studied Veterinary Medicine (Colombia), completed a MSc program in Veterinary Sciences (Brazil) and earned a PhD in Molecular Cellular and Integrative Physiology at UC Davis. She has been awarded with the Graduate Scholarship Program for Foreign Students of the CNPq-Brazil and the Fulbright-MinCiencias Scholarship. Currently, she investigates the role of PKD1 in ECC using confocal microscopy (calcium imaging), western blotting and echocardiography; and she collaborates in the characterization of a new murine HFpEF model. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family, and loves sports (tennis, volleyball, cycling and paddle boarding). She also is passionate about horses, as a hobby and as a veterinarian.
