Kim Hellgren

Postdoctoral Fellow

Kim started his postdoc, in the Bers lab, on Feb 1st in 2020. His work is focused on mitochondrial ion handling in diseased and healthy hearts. He received his PhD in Manchester UK studying cardiac mitochondrial function and Ca2+ handling in adult offspring from hypoxia pregnancies and received his BSc in biology at Gothenburg University, Sweden. His expertise includes mitochondrial respiration and ROS production, Ca2+ imaging, molecular biology, electronics, 3d printing and programming. In his spare time, Kim likes being on the water surfing, windsurfing, sailing or paddleboarding. He also plays a couple of instruments. You can tweet Kim @KimHellgren.
