Vanessa Lutz

Graduate Student

Vanessa is a master's student in molecular medicine and is completing the practical parts of her studies in Prof. Mustroph's working group at Regensburg University Hospital in Germany. Her research focuses on the storage disease Transthyretin Amyloidosis. The main focus is on the structural changes in cardiomyocytes and the disturbed calcium handling that underlies this disease.

She is highly trained in immunofluorescence staining and confocal fluorescence imaging techniques. Her expertise also includes cell isolation, force measurements, myocardial slice culturing, Western blotting, and newly acquired knowledge about calcium imaging during her stay in the Bers Lab.
