Wei-Lun (Alan) Hsiao
Undergraduate Volunteer
Wei-Lun (Alan) is a UC Davis undergraduate in the Class of 2025/26 majoring in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior with a minor in Statistics. His research in the Bers Lab focuses on post-translational modifications of CaMKIIδ, specifically how S-nitrosylation modulates its activation and localization in cardiomyocytes. His work combines immunocytochemistry, fluorescence imaging, and quantitative signal analysis. Alan will begin the PharmD program at the University of Washington after graduation, where he hopes to integrate clinical practice and research in cardiovascular pharmacotherapy. He first became interested in the heart when his middle school teacher dissected a pig heart. In his free time, he enjoys water activities such as kayaking, surfing, snorkeling, and rafting.
